Embracing the Suck

Nothing worth having ever comes all that easy. As I reflect back over what 2020 brought, it can be staggering. We’ve had missed graduations ceremonies, missed college/high school baseball seasons, missed vacations, missed time with my elderly mom; there is a lot we missed.

But what if in spite of all of the obvious setbacks in our personal and business lives, we can take a bigger picture look at this year so far and see it through the lens of clarity and completion…like 20/20 vision?

It takes a lot to step back from the many obvious hits that continue to come with this year and get a broader perspective on it. Did we ever consider that things “don’t just happen”? There is a time and place for everything under the sun. There is a time for building and a time to tear down. There’s a time for weeping and a time for joy and abundance. There is a time to stay and put down roots and time to migrate or transition.

Everything in our life has a bigger meaning. Every pain has purpose. Life is not just a series of chaotic events it is ordained and even cultivated by us or by God; Universe; Source; Higher Power. Things ALWAYS HAPPEN FOR US…NOT TO US.

So, don’t be so quick to collapse under the stress, depression or fear or frustration that has brought many people to their knees here in 2020…Stop, Pause and EMBRACE THE SUCK. It has something very valuable to show you, I guarantee it.

I have enjoyed the sweet quarantine days with my family and having all of them around me to hang out, play games cook meals together watch old movies make videos. I have gained a lot of clarity and learned a lot of very valuable lessons about life and even about myself and my pursuits in life…because of this. This is time that has been provided for all of us and I hope you made the most of it and always EMBRACE THE SUCK.
